European Rosetta Workshop 2026
Dear researcher,
we are organizing a hands-on workshop in Lisbon, Portugal, focused on the latest computational protein design using Rosetta and AI-based tools such as RFdiffusion and ProteinMPNN. This workshop is a satellite event to the https://rosettacommons.org/events/erc/. Registering for the conference does not register you for the workshop automatically, and vice versa. Dual participation is encouraged but is not mandatory.
The workshop is open to researchers across all career stages and backgrounds, including students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and professionals from academia or industry. We welcome participants with different perspectives and levels of experience who are interested in exploring or expanding their skills in protein design.
Participants will work on applications such as enzyme design, binder development, and vaccine-related protein engineering. The workshop combines guided tutorials with time for independent exploration and discussion.
There is no registration fee. If the number of applications exceeds available spots, participants will be selected based on motivation and with the aim of creating a balanced and interactive learning environment.
Registration will close on August 15, 2026. Decisions on admission will be made and sent until September 1, 2026.
Practical information:
- Date: October 22-27, 2026
- Location: Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
- Format: In-person. There will be no online/virtual participation and no recordings. Schedule: 5 days, 9am-5pm. Sunday, 25 Oct is a free day.
Useful background knowledge:
- Basic familiarity with Python (e.g., loops, jupyter notebooks)
- General understanding of protein structure and interactions
- A personal laptop capable of connecting to a virtual machine (setup instructions will be provided)
We aim to create a respectful, collaborative, and supportive environment where participants can engage at their own pace.
The event is supported by Universidade Nova de Lisboa, RosettaCommons and de.NBI. Meiler Lab, Schoeder Lab and Kuenze Lab members contribute to organization and teaching.
