Congratulations to Ben Brown, research assistant professor in the Meiler lab, on his recent NIH DP1 award for his project titled Developing a computational platform for induced-fit and chemogenetic drug design.
The goal of the project is to integrate AI and physics-based molecular modeling methods to address longstanding challenges in modeling largescale induced-fit changes during high-throughput computer-aided drug design. Ben applies the tools he develops with existing methods to discover new partial agonists of the mu opioid receptor to help treat addiction and manage chronic pain with less addictive substances.
