I am interested in developing new protein design methods and leveraging them to design novel protein folds & functions. Together with Sam Schmitz I developed an algorithm to inform Rosetta sequence design with co-evolutionary information, highlighting how subtle inter-dependencies in the occupancy of residue positions throughout evolution are crucial for protein function. In current projects I am combining new machine learning methods with Rosetta sequence design, as well as applying protein design in order to engineer biologics working alongside collaboration partners.
