Zain Tariq has been a Meiler lab undergraduate researcher under Dr. Kaitlyn Ledwitch’s mentorship since Spring 2023. Their work on potassium ion channels was recognized in summer 2024 with a highly competitive VUSRP summer research award. Zain recently defended his honor’s thesis on KCNT1 (Potassium channel subfamily T, member 1), and his committee agreed to award him his degree with honors. Congratulations, Zain and Kaitlyn!
